Hi, I'm Michael. I am a software engineer based out of the San Francisco Bay Area temporarily relocated to Davis. Currently, I work at <biotech corp> building tooling and infrastructure supporting secondary bioinformatics analysis.

Recently, I've gotten an itch to write more. Both to express my thoughts and to document my progress in more hands-on learning. While my education and professional experience lean towards machine learning applications in genomics and clinical text, I am very excited by machine learning infrastructure and I want to lean more into learning about distributed training as well as computer vision applications in video generation (e.g. text2video, image2video, video2video, etc.).

I am originally from Canada and I really enjoy hiking, taking pictures with my camera, and traveling to new places. I am also an avid retired FFXIV player , mostly engaging in high-end content.
